If you're looking for a pre-owned car, spare yourselves the possibility of being verbally attacked. eBay and Autotrader are there for a reason.
It is my hope that in the future, the industry filters out these bad apples, and consumers can recieve the relaxed, friendly, and pleasurable experience that car buying was meant to have.
In a tight knit community, people typically talk and word naturally travels fast. In this case, I fully believe that the accusations made are 100% true and factual, as this is not the first, or second, or third time that an incident of this nature has occurred. The incident in question is that of a consumer who visited High Marques with the intention of buying a Porsche. To make a (very) long story short, the consumer was addressing questions and concerns anybody looking to buy a pre-owned automobile would have. It appears as though Mr. Vogt became restless by the customer's questions and reacted with a display of blatant antisemitism.
Best source of low mileage classic sports cars. And John Vogt is always super helpful.
I am writing this because a close friend of mine from college had a very similar encounter, but one of anti-Italianism. Though he was able to brush it off, I cannot stand to see this type of conduct in today's day & age, and it infuriates me.
The sheer fact that they go out of their way to defame a local business alone (oddly enough, they fail to name this so called local business) is bad business. The sheer fact that there have been incidents of racism and deception is absolutely unaceptable, and it's instances like these that give the auto business a bad reputation.
I can attest that this is not the first incident with Mr. Vogt. In the past, there have been countless portrayals of blatent racism, narcissism, defamation of other businesses and individuals, verbal abuse, deception, and vulgar and ill-mannered actions, amongst countless other things. Both in his establishment, as well as at public automotive related events.
I am very upset that this consumer who was interested in potentially purchasing a car was faced with the encounter referenced in the Ripoff Report link at the bottom of this page. The year is almost 2018, we should not live in a world where this happens - but futhermore, we should not live in a world where business owners like this one get away with what some would consider verbal assault, which I very much do at the very least.
Great place
Extremely helpful and knowledgeably about cars! They only sell cars in perfect condition and their prices are more than reasonable! Working with them currently on buying my next car and I can not say enough nice things about them.
There have been countless customers who have had racial remarks made to their faces while in the establishment, my friend included, along with customers who have been decieved by information on a car, regarding it's condition or history.
In the Ripoff Report Mr. Vogt claims that the incident is untrue and that it was the doing of another local business. I find that VERY strange. Of all the rebuttals in the world, why would someone point fingers at a local business claiming that they are trying to defame you? What possible reason would there be for that?
This review is a response to the post left on Ripoff Report on 2/21/2016. I'll Include a link to that page at the end. Update, Google won't let me post URL's, so just do a search for High Marques on Ripoff Report, sit back, and relax.
By far the best purveyor of exotic cars in the area. I have bought a 911 c4s, three Ferraris and a db9 from Jon. All perfect condition and maintained. He only stocks the best. Don't go to Rob in Peapack! I learned the hard way. Pieces of junk.
